Dorothy Vannucci Obituary

Dorothy Eda Vannucci A proud native of San Francisco, Dorothy passed away on Nov. 23, 2010 at the age of 96. She was born on Sept. 24, 1914 to Frank and Vittoria Peragallo and was the sister of the late Alma Pisciotto and the late Alice Zanardi. Loving wife of the late Gino Vannucci. Devoted mother of Joan (Arthur) Costamagna, John (Gayle) Vannucci and the late Gene Vannucci. Nonie of Mary (Robert) Eve, Joanie (Peter) Badertscher, Joseph (Lisa) Costamagna, Erin Peterson, John F. Vannucci, Nicholas Vannucci, Victor (Marie) Vannucci and Pamela (Brian) Fuller. Great grandmother of 14. Great great grandmother of 2. She will be missed by many loyal nieces and nephews especially Anita Boragno. Dorothy grew up in North Beach, met and married Gino in SS Peter & Paul's Church where she received all her sacraments and where we will celebrate her life on Dec. 2. Dorothy and Gino moved to the Marina where she lived in the family home for the last 63 years. She was an active member of the De Paul Seniors. She loved family, traveling, cooking, summers at the river, trips to Tahoe and cruising. Mostly, Dorothy was all about family. She loved hosting Holiday Dinners and Mother's Day picnics, creating happy memories for the family. Friends are welcome for visitation from 4-8 PM Wed. Dec 1, at HALSTED N. GRAY - CAREW & ENGLISH, 1123 Sutter St., SF with a vigil service at 7PM. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30AM Thurs. Dec 2, at SS Peter & Paul Church, 666 Filbert St., SF with entombment following at Italian Cemetery, Colma. Contributions in Dorothy's memory may be made to Salesian Boys' and Girls' Club, 680 Filbert St., SF CA 94133 or St. Jude Shrine, PO Box 15368, 2390 Bush St., SF CA 94115. Complimentary Parking

Our Dear Aunt Dorothy was a wonderful inspiration to all who knew her.
We have so many great memories of her with our Dear Mother Alice, which will remain in our hearts forever.
She will truly be missed.

Dorothy was so kind to me when Gino died and for many, many years afterwards. I will always hold a special place in my heart for her. My thoughts go out to Nick, Vic, Pam, and the rest of the family. She was a very special woman.
