Raymond Finegan Obituary

Raymond J. Finegan Passed away on June 17, 2011 in Petaluma. Devoted husband of the late Mary Jean Finegan. Cherished father of Susan Finegan of Lake Tahoe, Sandy Finegan of San Francisco, and Cathy Maley (Mike) of Petaluma. Cherished grandfather of Kaitlin, Shaymus, Fitzpatrick, Micaela, and Shaughnacey. Beloved great-grandfather of Jameson. Age: 92 years. A Member of: Carpenter's Union, Local 22. Ray was a native son of San Francisco, attending Mission High School. During World War II, he dutifully served in the US Army Air Corp, was a part of the first wave at Utah Beach and received the Bronze Star for his actions. The youngest to receive his state contractor's license in CA, Ray worked as a building contractor in San Francisco utilizing his "hillside magic" constructing buildings that stand rock solid today. San Francisco is the city it is today because Ray's Irish eyes have smiled upon it. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, but above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially enjoying family parties. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 10:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hanna Boys Center, P.O. Box 100, Sonoma, CA 95476. Interment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
