Carla Ortiz Benitez Born to Mariano Sampson and Isabelina Ortiz Benitez in the Philippines on April 20, 1954, our beautiful Carla passed away on Oct. 31, 2010 at the age of 54, surrounded by her loving family. Survived by sisters Emma(Gary) Plimley, Clarita(Mike) O'Donovan and brothers and sisters in the Philippines; adored by nephews and nieces Rolando(Preci), Ronaldo(Onelia), Bernard(Liza), Rommel, Evelyn(June), Hazel(Herb) and their children Samantha, Robin, R.J., Brynzen, Solomon, Junnen, Jasper and Justin; dearly loved by Ray and Rachel Satorre, Pete and Violet Orence, George and Charito Asuncion, DePerio, Competente, Soriano and Mausisa families and friends at Derek Silva Community Residence Mercy Housing. Special thanks to Dr. Royce Lin and the Doctors and staff at UCSF- SFGH, Salome, and Doctor "Meg", Malou and staff at API Wellness Center, Carolyn and "Health at Home". Friends are invited to attend a Vigil Service on Friday Nov. 5th at 7pm at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday Nov. 6th at 12pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 60 Wellington Ave, Daly City. Interment to follow at Holy Cross, Colma. Contributions in Carla's memory can be made to Asia and Pacific Islander Wellness Center "Care Services" 730 Polk St, San Francisco CA 94109 or Health at Home c/o Laguna Honda Hospital, SF.
