Alfredo Guevarra Obituary

Alfredo L. Guevarra A memorial service will be held Friday, November 14, in Vallejo for former Bay Area resident Alfredo L. Guevarra. Mr. Guevarra died November 2 of cancer of the esophagus at Anderson Medical Center in Meridian, Miss. He was 77. Born in the Philippines, Mr. Guevarra came to the United States in 1952. A chemical engineer, he was for many years a leading product developer, first for Fuller-O'Brien Paints, formerly of South San Francisco, and later for the Flecto Company, then in Oakland. After his retirement in 1994, Mr. Guevarra moved to the South and settled in Mississippi, where his wife, Dr. Victoria Capuyan Guevarra, practices medicine. In addition to Victoria, his wife of almost 23 years, Mr. Guevarra is survived by his children Alfred, Lisa and Leslie, and sons-in-law Bruce and Richard, all of the Bay Area; a grandson, Max, also of the Bay Area; several sisters, brothers, nephews and nieces; and his stepmother. Services for Mr. Guevarra will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, November 14, at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 925 Sacramento St., Vallejo.
