James Bird Obituary

James D. Bird James D. Bird born on Sept. 8, 1937 joined his on true love Bernice, on Nov. 14, 2010. He passed away due to complications from a variety of illnesses. He was born in San Francisco to Herbert and Hazel Gates. His family moved to Lodi where he went to high school and met Bernice. After they married, they moved back to San Francisco where Jim worked in the electrical industry and they raised two sons, Richard and Dennis. Later they moved to San Carlos where Jim loved to entertain friends and family by the pool. He also was a true 49er faithful, enjoying tailgate parties with friends for 40 plus years. Jim is preceded in death by his sister Veronica(Dolly) Grey and is survived by his brother Richard, daughter in law Kathleen, three grandsons, Brett, Kevin, Eric and several nieces and nephews. Jim is loved and will be missed by many. A memorial service will be held on Friday Nov. 19th at 11 am in the Newall Chapel of CYPRESS LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 1370 El Camino Real, Colma, CA.

Jim made my life so much more enjoyable for many years. We were mutually supportive growing up . He was a good brother. I loved him and will miss him.
