I remember Jim from an exceptional and memorable talk he gave to our Environmental Forum of Marin. He was passionate about air quality and educating all of us on how to improve our air. I didn't know him beyond that one encounter but was touched by his commitment to clean air. I was shocked and very saddened to see his picture in the Chronicle. I'm sure that all of you who knew him will feel his absence. I feel we lost an important voice that advocated for what is good for all of us. I, too, will miss knowing you are there watching out for all of us who breathe the air. So long, lovely person.

Jim was a kind and most compassionate man. I knew him in my capacity as a faculty member at CDSP. His dedication to helping others and his integrity were inspiring to me. I will miss Jim.

You will be missed by all who came in contact with you, Jim. Those of us in Austin will miss your yearly visits. You enriched my life by being a part in it.
