Libby Chizick Obituary

Libby Chizick Born in 1923, passed away peacefully on October 27 in San Jose at age 87. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Libby moved west to San Francisco in the sixties to be near family, and spent the last years of her long career with the federal government at the old Public Health Hospital on Lake Street. She was very active in retirement and particularly valued her long association as a member and volunteer with the Stonestown Y and the Academy of Sciences. She was preceded in death by parents Fannie and Nathan, and by sisters Ruth Altman and Anne Bennett. She is survived by nephews Steve Altman, Cedric Bennett, and Michael Bennett, five-grand nephews and eight great-grand nieces and nephews. She was much loved and will be long missed. Funeral will be private.

I had the privilege to meet Libby back in 1981 when my daughter was born. I remember going to her home and how warm and welcoming she was. Libby I have never forgotten you. May you rest in peace and may God be with you. To her family, we have not met but I will keep you in my prayers.
