Mr. Davenport was a wonderful English teacher. He opened my door to creativity and confidence in writing and expression. I remember my junior year of English IB was so full of creativity and that continued through college and currently in my engineering profession. Mr. Davenport was a big part of my educational development and I wish I had let him know when I realized how lucky I was to have him as a teacher!

I will think of him often, smile when I am writing technical reports.

Please know that he enriched my life.

Dear Sarah and Family.
I considered Stan and true friend. I will remember him for his smile, his wisdom his laughter and the times we spent together talking about the ills of the world. When I lived on Madrone, he would always drive by, honk, wave and smile no matter if I was outside or in.
As you know, we taught the same students at Franklin for 5 years. He with English and me with Biology. Teaching the IB kids together was one of the best times we shared. I will also miss that. His passing has left the world a little dimmer but the heavens a little brighter. I only wish he could have enjoyed retirement a little longer, traveling, laughing and spreading good will.
Once again, he will always be in my thoughts and I can only imagine the void he has left in your life.
Please remember, we are only a phone call away.

Dear Sara ~ I think of you (and Stan, of course) nearly every day now. I remember the first time Robby & I met him. You two were so in love and proud of each other ~ you of his grilling skills and he of your clever cheese-inside-the-hamburger-patty. You were blessed with many years of that mutual love and you will be blessed with many years of Stan's love shining down on you and your family. I send you love, too ~ Jeanne

Sara, Carla, and Mark, my heartfelt condolences to you at this time. That is a wonderful picture of Stan, just as I remember him -- always smiling and looking like he had a joke on the tip of his tongue. :o) He was one of the good guys, and he will be missed by those of us who had the pleasure of working with him.

My dear Sara,

I'm so very sorry to hear about Stan. I enjoyed first meeting you and Stan when Carla was in my first grade classroom. She was such a special student and you were wonderful supportive parents.

Over the years I have thought of all of you and when Stan Steele and I became widowed travel companions we found that we both shared wonderful memories of the Davenport family.

Recent occasions when we ran into you at locations or functions it has been fun to catch up on Carla's life.

My heart goes out to all of you. Life presents much happiness, but also grief. My prayers are with you all.

I embracee you with love and friendship.

Carla, Sara, and Mark,
I will always remember Stan as one of the best fathers and husbands I've been privileged to know. When visiting the house, it was always a family affair. He greeted you with a warm smile and kiss on the cheek.  He was a great conversationalist who listened intently and gave witty comments with a twinkle in his eye. His presence will always be felt and remembered by that gentle smile and love. My thoughts and love are with you.

Mrs. Davenport and family,
My deepest condolences to your family. I did not have the honor of knowing Mr. Davenport but I did know Mrs Davenport. I was in her history class junior year(97-98) at Edison. Mrs. Davenport was one of those great teachers that I will never forget. She would always talk about her husband, so in a way if feels as though I did know him. I am very sorry for the great loss your family has endured, and I hope that you are able to find the strength that is needed to carry on through these hard times.

Sara,
I wish I could use words to ease your grief at this time. Words were Stan's stage-he used words to captivate his students and friends. His smile, his laughter, his great sense of humor will long be remembered. I am thankful to have been his colleague for nearly 20 years. Room 210 will be filled with the echo his voice.
