Philip Robertson Obituary
Philip McRae Robertson Aug. 21, 1920-Oct. 11, 2010 Philip Robertson lived life with great enthusiasm. He was born in San Francisco August 21, 1920 where he was raised and educated. On Monday, October 11, 2010, at the age of 90, he died at the home he loved on Shaw Island, Washington. After serving two tours of duty in the US Army during WWII he returned home and built the Empey A. Robertson Insurance Company into one of San Francisco's most prominent insurance companies. Philip married Mary Keast and they had two children. Elizabeth Keast Robertson Baker and Katherine Bruce Robertson will forever miss and love him. He leaves two grandchildren, Cameron Keast Baker and Spencer McRae Baker and his son-in-law James Patrick Baker who will forever miss his infectious sense of fun and adventure. Philip later married Polly Hanna. Phil is loved and will be missed by her children, Judy Hanna, Judd Hanna, Jennifer Hanna Horsman and Jill Hanna and their families. Philip married Susan Metcalf 14 years ago and together they enjoyed life on Shaw Island. He will be missed by Brock and Lisa Metcalf and their children, Katie and Hunter. Philip is survived by his sister Louise Hart, who will be 94 in December. Louise, her son Philip Hart, his wife Nena and their family all miss and love him. Philip, always a great outdoorsman, continued to enjoy hunting, fishing and camping throughout his life. An expert yachtsman, Philip was a member of The San Francisco Yacht Club, The St. Francis Yacht Club and The San Juan Yacht Club. Philip shared the lifelong companionship of many great friends. Early on he was a member of the Guardsmen. He was a highly regarded and long-time member of both the Bohemian Club and the Pacific Union Club. Handsome and full of energy, Philip was a man of marked individuality. He will be remembered with love and admiration. At Phil's request there will be no service.
