Victor Fellows Obituary

Victor Gerald Fellows, Jr. M.D. Passed away in Hillsborough, CA, October 18, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was 87 years old. He is survived by his wife, Audrey, his three children Susan, William, and Robert, 7 grandchildren, and two sisters, Lois Blasetti of Oneonta, New York and Ruth Saunders of West Winfield, New York. An active, yet gentle man he balanced his love for medicine with his passions for physical fitness, travel, fine wines, Shakespeare, and Opera. Vic's sweet spirit, wry humor, strong personal ethics, and devotion to his family were recognized by all who met him. He was treasured by his many wonderful friends and will be missed deeply. Born in Iowa to Victor and Edythe Fellows, he was raised in New York, attended Wesleyan University, graduated from Columbia University medical school and did residency in ophthalmology at Stanford University Hospital. Victor practiced medicine for over 50 years and at the time of his retirement was the oldest practicing ophthalmologist in the city of San Francisco. The family wishes to thank the Belle Haven nursing service and especially Edditha and Tess for all their kindness and wonderful care. The family requests that any donations in honor of Victor Fellows be sent to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, 15 S. Pioneer Street, Ashland, OR 97520 or to the Pacific Vision Foundation at California Pacific Medical Center, 2395 Sacramento St., 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94115 Memorial Services will be held Nov. 5th at 5:00pm at Crosby-N. Gray & Co., 2 Park Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.
