Patrick Joyce Obituary
Born March 10, 1943, in the Aran Islands, Co Galway Ireland, Patrick left home at age 16 joining the Irish Army & served as a UN Peacekeeper in the Congo, Africa. After, he traveled to CA & made his home in Oakland, CA. There he learned his trade, Carpentry. For the next 40 years, he built homes, including his family home. He loved to share his trade & was a patient teacher. Patrick enjoyed Irish set dancing & was a proud member of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, marching yearly in the St. Patrick's Parade. Patrick loved to Travel & loved laughter. Words can never say how much he will be missed.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society.
Friends & family are invited to a celebration of Patrick's life on Thurs, Feb. 21st, 2013, at St. Theresa's Church, 30 Mandalay Rd, Oakland, CA 94618. Viewing from 5pm-7pm with a Funeral Mass at 7pm. Burial on Fri, Feb, 22, 2013, at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Dear Joyce family,
We are thinking of Pat as the anniversary of his passing nears. We miss him a lot, and reminisce often of the years of friendship with him on Wilding Lane. Pat was a tough son-of-a-gun, a real hard working guy and one of the best builders I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Pat was a master builder whose enthusiasm for building was exceeded only by his love for his family and his Irish heritage. I always enjoyed being around Pat. He will be missed.
