Jeanette Leone Spehar Feb 11, 1933 - Dec 26, 2010 A wonderful wife, mother, and friend, Jan passed away in the early morning on Sunday, December 26. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Frank; sister, Gwen Bartholomew; sons, Scott and Frank and their wives, Cathy and Jennifer. She had 4 granddaughters, Kristi, Jamie, Shelby, and Holly, whom she dearly loved. Her positive energy and infectious attitude were always with us and never once were overshadowed by a life of medical complications. She was a competitive business woman and, along with her good friend, Joan Remine, owned and operated Jo-Jan's Swim and Sportswear for 20 years. In addition to her professional life, Jan was a person of strong faith and spent a good deal of time engaged in activities at St. Thomas Canterbury Episcopal Church. She especially enjoyed time spent with "all" her friends at St. Thomas, specifically when they came together producing a successful bazaar and craft oriented activity. Jan will be missed, but never forgotten. She had a beautiful smile, lovely heart, and an energy level and attitude that raised the spirits of those around her. Services are scheduled for Sunday, January 2, 2011, 1:00 pm, at St. Thomas of Canterbury Episcopal Church, 5306 Arbor Rd, Long Beach, CA 90808 (562) 425-4457 (or email revbonnie@gmail.com).
