Hey Pops,
Happy New Year . . .I miss you so very, very much. Things are going about as best as can be expected under the circumstances. In case I never told you I wanted you to know I thank you for all the wonderful times you were there for Rick and I. All the many weekends in Big Bear, Vegas, Laughlin and Diamond Bar we had. For the loving and kind words (and the scoldings) you had for me, but most of all Dad thanks for all the Laughs and wonderful memories I carry with me daily. You taught me so much and I will always be greatful you were a part of my life even if it was too short a time. I will Love and Miss you every day.

Gil, I was introduced to you this past summer by your daughter Gina and was blessed to enjoy the company of a kind man with a warm heart. Gathering from the few visits that I had with you, I discovered that you had a passion for life, a contagious sense of humor and a great deal of love and commitment toward your family. May the joyous memories of you bring comfort and peace to your loved ones for eternity. I was truly honored to know you here on earth.

It has come time for me to sign the guest book. You have since passed and the days don't quite feel the same. I find myself whistling down the hall and making sure the lights are on (or off) at the appropriate time. The lawn is taken care of and I'm doing my best to watch over mom and Steven, though I know I'll never be able to do as good as you.
I did my best to make you proud, and will continue to do so in your honor. I wont forget your last words to me. Words of love, and blessings goodnight. Telling me to "be careful" and to keep an eye on Jenna Banana for you.
I'll try to remember that with each day we're building memories, and though you aren't physically here to partake in them, you are with us in our hearts. And when life gets tough I'll take some time and count down from 10: 10, 9, 8...7,6,5...4,3,2...1.
I love you Dad, thank you for your love, support, sense of humor, and encouragement.

I want to express my sincere thanks to Gil for the way he always treated me and my children with such kindness, and for considering us like family. Especially the close relationship he shared with Jenna. I know she will always have very special memories of the time she spent with her "Grandpa Gil." He is very greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts.

Gil, Cliff went on to join and keep you company November 20th. May you both catch all the fish you can, keep eachother out of harms way, and watch over Margaret and me with loving eyes, we are so lonely. The holidays approaching are going to be very hard for us. We love you both and miss you!

Gil, your presence in our lives will always be treasured. I miss you and life without you will never be the same. Gilbert, after I read my letter to you, many other things came to mind, especially your green thumb. I still use the pill cutter you gave me. I still use your work flashlight, the two cell lite, with the curved clear p;astic end. Knowing you, you said it was for looking around corners, and the small circut tester is used to check christmas lights. Love you Bro, say Hello to my family up there.

OK Gil, we know you are still with us because of all the little pranks you keep playing. I think that is what I liked most about you. Margaret always liked it when I was around because YOU would pick on me instead of her. LOL. Of course I'd dish it right back to you. Maybe that's what gave us the bond that we had. Too your memory, and all of the good times we all had together. You Remember ... Member ? The Laughlan trips, Dances, Blitz Card games, and how can we not forget the "Friday Night Football" (gin) Games. Never a dull moment when you were around. Oh Yes, and the many times when we did get together it was nothing but fun, laughter,and the joy of us all being together.
Ya, the times we did get together it was Fritos,Beer Nuts,and our favorite Budweiser. It was our (Gil's) version of a Mexican "Happy Hour". and yes, we did get a little "pedos" at times but it was all in fun. Those are the memories and fun filled times I will keep until the time we can have those "Good Times" again.

Just remembering the times the four of us would go to Laughlin. You would do most of the talking and telling jokes and when you would run out of things to say you would whistle or sing. never a dull moment when you were around.
