BETTY WICKER Obituary

Age 82, of Montclair, died December 22, 2010, at Montclair Hospital Medical Center. She was born on November 8, 1928, in Gallup, New Mexico, and lived in Montclair for 52 years. She earned a BA in English from the University of California in Riverside, a Masters in Education from California State College, Los Angeles, and had Teaching and Administrative Credentials. She worked as a Teacher and Counselor for Chino Unified School District for 25 years, and was a member of the Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Montclair for 52 years. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother that seemed happiest when spending time with family and friends. Betty was an avid walker, and belonged to walking groups at Montclair Plaza and Ontario Mills shopping centers. She was very good at making quilts, crossword puzzles and gardening. She loved to volunteer at her church, and was a Eucharistic Minister. She is survived by two sons, Michael Wicker and his wife, Donna, and John Wicker and his wife, Tina; seven grandchildren, James, Christine, Jason, David, Joshua, Hope, and John; fifteen great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Karges and his wife, Wanda, and Frank Karges and his wife, Jane. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Wicker, sons, James L. Wicker, Robert Wicker, and sister, Carmel Ann Saiz. Rosary will be at 7 P.M. on Monday, January 3, 2011, at Stone Funeral Home in Upland, with Viewing from 5 to 7 P.M. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Montclair. Burial will be at 12:30 P.M., Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, area #3. Stone Funeral Home Upland in charge of arrangements.

My Grandmother was the best! I love and miss her so much! I am going to be married soon and it saddens me that she wont be there. I will always treasure the memories that we had shared, especially when she was there to hold my 2 babies (her great great grandchildren) for the first time. I love you Grams!

My thoughts and prayers are with Mike and John with the passing of their
Mom. She was a classy and beautiful woman. So many accompishments in her to short life. Her best acheivment was raising all those boys on her own!
