DAVID NARASKY Obituary

Dave was born on November 1, 1925. His ninth inning call came on November 18, 2010. He was born in Manistee, Michigan and grew up in several places around Muskegon, Michigan. He joined the Navy in WWII and was stationed on the U.S.S. Carrol as a Pharmacists Mate 2nd Class. He started with General Telephone and Electronics, where he saw 30 years of service. While working for GTE he had a blind date with the love of his life, Norma Jean. They were married 56 years before her passing in 2007. GTE took him Ontario, California. Soon his passion for youth sports kept him involved for 45 years. He did it all- grounds keeping, coaching, treasurer, scorekeeper, and umpiring. He was the authority and mentor to many for decades. Dave's other passion was his volunteer work with the Oroville Gleaners. He had the privilege of picking items up, driving the truck, and helping to distribute items on his appointed mornings. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who was always there for you. Dave is survived by one brother, Erve of Murietta, CA; his children Roseanne (Terry Gertsch), David (LeeAnn), Kevin (Rhonda), Steven (DeeDee), and Nick. He is also survived by grandchildren Sam, Alyssa, Rob, Jake, Sara, Amy, Matthew, Amanda, Nick and Rachel, great-grandchildren Haley, Madisen, Devin, Emma and Sadie. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 3:00PM at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson St., Oroville, CA. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Dave's honor to the Oroville Gleaners Food Basket. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
