EUGENE KEARIN Obituary

Passed away on December 1, 2010 in Lancaster, California, at the age of 86; he was surrounded by the love of his family. Gene was born on a farm in Ramona, South Dakota on November 16, 1924. He was a veteran of WWII and The Korean War, serving both as an Army Airborne paratrooper. He worked as a civil engineer for over 50 years in the Los Angeles area. Gene enjoyed camping and boating with The California Cruising Club alongside his beloved Helen, his wife of 29 years. He was a lifelong Dodger fan, first in Brooklyn then in Los Angeles; and considered them The Greatest Team in the World. He is survived by eight children: Diane, Robert, Lisa, David, Art, Sheila, Shawn and Stephen; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Lenora Yocum of Oakhurst, California. Visitation will be held Monday, December 6, 2010, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary, 11160 Stranwood Ave., in Mission Hills. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2010, 9:00 a.m., at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary, with burial services immediately following. A Reception will be held at The Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gene's name to The American Cancer Society, The American Lung Association or the charity of their choice. Directors 818-361-7387
