EVELYN LOUISE FOLKINS

born in Los Angeles on February 28, 1920 passed away at Pomona Valley Hospital October 7, 2010. As an infant she moved to San Diego where she grew up. She attended the University of Redlands and graduated in 1942 with a Bachelor of Arts. It was there that she met Hugh M. Folkins, a native of Redlands. They were married on August 19, 1942. During World War II Hugh joined the navy and the couple lived in Berkeley Calif. After the war they returned to Redlands and resided there until moving to Riverside in 1955. In 1968 Evelyn and her family moved to Pomona. Evelyn spent 35 years as a paralegal professional. She had a broad range of interests including writing poetry, dancing, travel, tandem biking, studying Shakespeare and hiking. She is survived by her five children, James Richard, John William, Jeffrey Joseph, Rhonda Renee, and Cherie Diane, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her longtime friend Clifford Cole.
