JAMES LOWE Obituary

Age 90, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and formerly of Los Angeles, California, and Fallon, Nevada, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010 in 4000 Valley Square, Woodside Village in Grand Forks. James Richards Lowe was born May 28, 1920 in Cass Lake, Minnesota, the son of Otis C. and Lucille (Richards) Lowe. He moved with his family to Los Angeles, graduating from Fairfax High School. He was a devoted father who instilled in his daughters (one more than the other) a love of football and fishing. He and his son shared a fondness for rock collecting. Like another famous Californian, ketchup was his favorite vegetable. He is survived by, his wife, Roberta; a son, Kenneth Lowe, Reno, Nevada; daughters, Catherine (James) Smith, Tarzana, California, and Gale (Patrick) O'Neill, Grand Forks, North Dakota; a nephew, Charles (Linda) Lowe; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. A sad day! I so enjoyed working with Jim, he was a 'rock' in the TV Pool. This was a great era and Jim kept a very good list of those that were thru the Pool in his era. I have a old list from '72 that's fun to read and remember. Thanks, Gale O'Neil for the personal letter and obit..
