JANE LONG Obituary

JACKSON LONG Age 86, was born in Manhattan, New York City, NY in 1924, her father, Edmond Joseph Macnamara, was born in County Clair Ireland, her mother Rachel Marie Campbell, was a Philadelphian. Jane Lois was raised in Philadelphia by her grandmother until she was 12. Her mother moved her to Los Angeles where she attended John Muir Junior High and Manual Arts High School, graduated as Class Valedictorian, attended UCLA, Westwood and became a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She married Robert Allen Jackson in 1943 and they raised three children in the San Fernando Valley, Steven Watt Jackson, Norman Allen Jackson and Aleta Louise Jackson. Jane Lois served as Cub Scout den mother, Charter PTA President of Newcastle Elementary and received an honorary life membership from Sequoia Junior High. In 1966 Jane Lois married F. Raymond Long and served as president of San Fernando Chapter of Pilot International, California governor for Pilot International and member of Secretaries International Satellite chapter. She was preceded in death by both of her former husbands. She retired from Rockwell International in 1972 and from the department of Veterans Affairs Sepulveda Hospital in 1993. Jane Lois received commendations for her volunteer work from Mayor Tom Bradley, City of Los Angeles, from Michael Antonovich, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and Federal Executive Board Awards from Lee Nachman and Brig. General Bloom USMC. In retirement, Jane Lois served as an office volunteer and former choir member at St. Mel Catholic Church, Woodland Hills, CA. She leaves her two sons, Steven Watt Jackson and wife Maria Lourdes of Chicago, Norman Allen Jackson and wife Sandy of Simi Valley and her daughter, Aleta Louise Jackson Crawford of Chandler, AZ. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Steven Allen Jackson and wife, Jennifer, of Canoga Park, CA, John David Jackson of Virginia, Christopher Paul Jackson, of Winfield, IL, Karra Elaine Crawford, R William, Hayden Crawford, and Jayla Crawford all of Scottsdale, AZ, and three great grandchildren, Julia Alyssa Jackson and Samantha Jackson of Canoga Park, CA and Victoria Lynne Jackson of Virginia. Private services were held at St. John the Baptist Church in Winfield, IL followed by entombment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Wheaton, IL. Funeral info www.williams-kampp.com or 630-668-0016

Today is the passing of your one year anniversay. I always think about you and still miss you! Today, I will plant you roses as you loved them so and you reminded as a young women to always stop and smell them. I love you Mom!
