JEAN HENTSCHKE BAKER

JEAN BAKER Obituary

assed away at her home with her family by her side October 17th, 2010. She was the third of five girls, all whom went thru public schools and on to the University of Redlands. It was there she met Robert Baker while he was in the V-12 program. They were married in 1945 and after living in Altadena for two years, returned to Redlands. Jean was active in school programs, sports, and was a Delta Kappa Psi at the Univ. of Redlands. She loved playing golf and became a very good golfer. Jean and Marge Edwards started the Ethel Hammer Golf Tournament in 1962 at the Redlands Country Club. It was to honor Ethel who had done so much for the Women's Golf Association. Her main love and devotion was to her family. She hosted Mothers Day each year at their house with games of Horse Shoes, Darts, and Croquet for the family and special guests. She is survived by her husband Robert Baker; two daughters, Linda Coffin and Debbie Stobaugh; two granddaughters, Lindsey Jean and Courtney Stobaugh; and one great granddaughter, Cheyenne Stubblefield (Lindsey's daughter). Of the four sisters, two are deceased, Lois Scholton and Rita Campbell, both from Redlands. Her other two sisters are Betty Conly and Gail Lloyd. In lieu of flowers please donation to the University of Redlands in the name of the Anita Gordon Hentschke Endowed Scholarship which is named after her mother. You may also give to an organization of your choice in memory of Jean Baker. A Celebration Of Life with Family and friends will be held at Redlands Country Club, Saturday, November 20th from 11:30 to 1:30.
