Dr. Mayne , John C. Was not just our family Dr. he was a friend to the family. He delivered me into this World on Nov, 20 1958. Through 1986 when he retired I saw him annually for physicals , and check ups for any potential concerns. When I heard from my Mother he was retiring I scheduled a physical , which coincided with my up coming nuptials on 26, of July 1986.
When he walked through the door as usual he swung the door quickly wide open. Mom would always tell us as kids get away from the door Dr. Maynes comin in soon so watch the door. Well, this time I was alone staying clear of the door while sitting on his examination table. He walked in , a d I immediately told him. "Dr. Maybe you were always very consistent in a. Ever changing world. Though you took care of our health we appreciate that you never changed. Thank you for not just delivering me into this world , but for the care you gave my family for so many years. Even today you are remembered , and thought of with appreciation, Kindness , and warmth. I am still thriving at now 65 years. All glory to God.
God bless you

Doctor Mayne was born on November 3. How do I know this? He was my daughter's pediatrician and he used to joke with her about being her twin brother. Dr. Mayne delivered me at Doctor's Hospital in Covina. I was fortunate to find him when I needed a doctor for my daughter. Such a blessing to have her grow up knowing the same pediatrician I had. He was more than our doctor, he was a friend of the family. He would attend football games that my brother played in, he would ask about all family members when you'd come in for a visit. I cannot tell you what a wonderful caring man is in just words. My heart fills with joy when I think of what a magnificent human Dr. John Mayne was.

Dear Helen, Lyda, Jimmy, Johnny, Colleen, Katy and families -
The Hiersch Family is so very sorry to hear the passing of our beloved friend and family doctor - "Dr. John". He was such a kind, sweet man. Our family has been thinking back to the wonderful times we shared together - the wonderful Easter brunches, birthday parties, Rotary Club Christmas Parties - and who can forget our fathers in those awful striped, old-fashioned swimsuits at the La Puente swim meet? We had such happy days with your family and we will always treasure Dr. John's everlasting friendship. We grieve with you in your time of sorrow.
With our love and sympathy - Allan, Doris, Linda (McCall) and Carol (Chapa) Hiersch
