Kendall Wardell Irwin

Kendall Wardell Irwin Kendall Wardell Irwin, born on March 31, 1926 in Los Angeles, CA, went to be with his Lord on September 26, 2010. Kenny attended Long Beach Military Academy, went on to graduate from Barber College and was a master barber for 58 years. He was the owner of Kenny's Redondo Barber Shop in Long Beach. He served in the US Navy as seaman first class from February 1944 until being honorably discharged in August 1946. Kenny had a zest for living, enjoyed golfing, bowling, dancing, a glass of brandy and camping with friends and family. He served as second VP for the Downtown Lions Club, 1986-1987. He was a member of BPOE for 53 years and served as exalted ruler of the Lakewood Elks Lodge #1570, 1996-1997. His parents, Dr. Fred and Flossie Irwin preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Leah; daughter, Sandi Taylor, Renee (Robert) Galusha and Teresa (David) Garcia; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Aubrey (Margaret) Irwin; and sister, Audrene (Frenchie) Beardeux. He was a special "Uncle Dell" to his many nieces and nephews. We will truly miss our very special "Papa". He will always be in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Lakewood Elks Lodge #1570, Special Projects, 12507 Carson St., Hawaiian Gardens, CA 90716. Visitation will be on Friday, October 1, 2010 from 5-8 pm. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 9 am. All held at All Souls Mortuary, 4400 Cherry Ave., Long Beach.
