Lucy Caropino Obituary

CAROPINO-Lucy Agnes, Jan. 17, 1919- Oct. 29, 2010 The Lord along with His Blessed Mother, called Lucy home while surrounded by her family and friends. Lucy was born to Balente and Damiana Centeno in Los Angeles, Calif. She attended Roosevelt High and graduated in 1937. She then attended business college, graduated and became the private secretary to the president of a large insurance company. Her res ponsibilities were many and diverse, involved in day to day corporate operations. While her work ethic and responsibility drove her to working endless hours, she was very active in the Catholic Church, helping in community charities. Lucy then met and married John Caropino. Together, they had four children and it was then she gave up her corporate life to a life she felt was the most important of all, that of raising her children. Upon her son, Ron, graduating from high school, Lucy entered the work forc e again. This time as a Special Education aide. She loved working with these emotionally handicapped kids and many have acknowledged her efforts over the years. They settled in Valinda where their house of 56 years still stands, but is now vacant of the sounds of both our parents' laughter and the love they so generously gave to all who touched their lives and who passed just months apart. Lucy's strong faith and loving heart became the nucleus of her now large and caring family. She will be truly mis sed. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband John and her 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her children, Stephen (Laura), Donald, Donna (Chuck), Ronald (Chris) and 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grand children. Services will be held at Queen of Heaven Mortuary, 2161 So. Fullerton Rd., Rowland Heights. Rosary: Friday, November 5 at 6:30 pm. Funeral services: Saturday, November 6 at 11am

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. Your mom was beautiful inside and out and I know she loved you all so much. My heart goes out to all of you as you grieve and in the days and weeks ahead. I pray that your memories of your mom, and dad, bring you comfort.
