MARGARET KIMBALL VAN BROCKLIN

Born in Redlands in 1920, died October 28 in Morgan Hill, California, at the home of her daughter Valerie Chambliss. Margaret, usually known as "Peggy", grew up in Redlands and attended Redlands schools, graduating from the University of Redlands in 1942. After graduate work in Social Studies her first job was with the YWCA in Honolulu. She met Vincent Van Brocklin, a resident there, and they were married in 1947. Living in Hawaii, she became involved in community and family life and spent the next 63 years there. In failing health, Peggy moved to Morgan Hill to be with her daughter in April 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993. She is survived by her sister Barbara Kimball Hauser of Redlands; her sons Bruce of Hawaii and Gary and his wife Marlene of North Carolina; her daughter Valerie and her husband David Chambliss; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Morgan Hill Presbyterian Church on her 90th birthday, December 21st.
