Theodore Peter "Ted" Polich Jr.

Theodore Polich Obituary

POLICH-Theodore Peter "Ted" Polich, Jr.,beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away on Christmas Eve at the age of 75. He was born in 1935 in Los Angeles and graduated from South Pasadena/San Marino High School in 1952. He graduated from Stanford University in 1956 and from USC School of Law in 1959. In 1960 he married Marilyn Moser and together they raised their family in San Marino. In 1969, Ted and Landon Morris founded the law firm now known as Morris Polich & Purdy. For the next 40 years, until his retirement in 2009, Ted actively practiced law and guided the firm as it grew to 80 lawyers with offices in Los Angeles, San Diego, Irvine, Las Vegas and San Francisco. Ted was outgoing, full of life and, like his father before him, revered three things above all else: God, his country and his family. He touched the lives of all who knew him and brightened each day with his big voice, hearty handshake and loving, loyal and generous spirit. He is survived by son Ted (Jennifer) and daughters Carey Yount (Robert) Lisanne Kern (Eric) and Crista Murray (Paul), brother Tyrone Polich as well as seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, honor Ted Polich by making donations to the Ted Polich Endowment at Saint Stevens Serbian Orthodox Cathedral. A celebration of Ted's life will be held on Thursday, December 30 at 11:00 am at St. Stevens Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, located at 1621 West Garvey in Alhambra. Internment will follow the service at the Serbian United Cemetery in Los Angeles under the direction of Risher Mortuary.

Dear Marilyn, This time of year must be very hard for you. Thankfully you have your children and grandchildren around you. We still remember the last time we saw you both for dinner at your house. We also remember the fun times on that cruise away back in 1969. Happy Christmas to you all. Hope you are all surviving in this Covid world......

We knew Ted and Marilyn. Met them on a cruise in 1968 along with another couple. Kept in touch for many years. Last time we say them was in 2006 and had dinner with the whole family at their home in Pasadena. Ted was a Great person. You could hear his voice miles away. He always referred to me as Canokske. A slang for a Canadian. Just came across his death notice Christmas Eve 2020.. CATHY and Alex McNamee, Montreal, Quebec... God Bless...

I was a brand-new court reporter when I first worked for "Mr. Polich." I always loved going to his office. He was gentle and strong, kind and reassuring and made being in his presence a pleasure. I was sad to learn of his passing. All the reporters I knew loved him. My condolences to his family, which I know he adored.
