Vera Roderer Obituary

RODERER-Vera Louise Roderer, died unexpectedly in her sleep at home on September 27, 2010 at the age of 91. She was born in Ohio in 1918, the only child of Pearl and Clarence Darst. She married Bernard Roderer in 1938. They moved to California in 1947 and eventually settled in their beloved community of Azusa where Vera was apartment manager of "The Azusan" for 30 years. Throughout her life she was recognized for her community service, most notably through the Azusa Emblem Club 325 of which she was a member for over 45 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Roderer (1986) and her son-in-law, Doug Oberholtzer (2010). She is survived by daughter, Brenda Oberholtzer and sons, Gary, Kurtis and Grant Roderer; daughters-in-law, Sue and Cheryl Roderer; grandchildren Jason, Mitchell and Kyle Martinez, Karen Truelove, Nicole, Ashley and Austin Roderer; great grandchildren Dylan and Trent Martinez, Katryna Foster & Hunter Truelove. A visitation will be held at White's Funeral Home on Friday, October 1st 6-9 pm and a celebration of life at White's on Saturday, October 2nd at 10:00 am. Donations can be made to the Emblem Club in her honor.
