Wallace Erickson Obituary

ERICKSON-Wallace A "Wally". Wally peacefully passed away on September 10, 2010 at age 87. He was born in Los Angeles on September 2 1923. He was a long time resident of Covina, Ca. Wally grew up in Pasadena and graduated from Woodbury College and UCLA. In the US Navy in World War II he served as a communications officer and plank owner of the USS Valencia, AKA-81 throughout the Pacific. After the war Wally became a CPA with Arthur Young & Co. He joined JG Boswell Co in Los Angeles. He retired from the company as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Wally was active in the Financial Executives Institute both nationally and locally and served a President of the LA Chapter. He served as a Director and as President of the California Taxpayers Assn. He participated in Rotary LA 5 and was active with the Salvation Army Red Shield Program in LA. He was a member of the University Club of Los Angeles and of Pasadena and the City Club on Bunker Hill. He is survived by Betty, his wife of 62 years, their two daughters and their families. Wally was an avid world traveler and photographer. He and Betty traveled throughout the South Pacific and to Europe, Asia and Africa. They had wonderful pictures and stories about their travels. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh and to laugh with them. He will be missed greatly. Wally did not wish to have a funeral or memorial.
