Frank Olson Obituary

Frank Wilfred Olson passed away Aug 9 2015 in San Diego, with family by his side. Born on Aug 12, 1924 in Alhambra, he was 5 minutes younger than his twin brother, George Wilbur. Growing up, he was known for his basketball prowess, being quick and agile at 6'4", 160 lbs. He enlisted in the Navy and served his country proudly from 1942 to 1945. Returning home, he went to work at his uncle's lumberyard, Olson Lumber. He married the love of his life, Mary Louise, on Oct 5, 1947, and raised four children: Frank, Karen, John and Jim.

After being in business with his older brother at Bob Olson Screen Company, Frank started his own business, Frank Olson Screen Company in San Gabriel in 1968. He became a General Contractor in the San Gabriel Valley, and finished out his career working at Reliable Lumber in Rosemead. His artistic abilities shown through in his furniture making and the beautiful scenic oil paintings he created.

Frank was known for his sincerity, superb integrity, honesty and for being the epitome of A Good Man.

Survivors are his wife Mary, son Jim and daughter-in-law Cathie, daughter-in-law Diane Olson Walkley; grandchildren Jennifer Olson, Laura Olson Bermudez, Frank Olson, Kary D'Alessandro, Erik Olson; great-grandchildren Ryan and Rachel Bermudez. Frank is predeceased by his children Frank, John, and Karen.

A Remembrance Service will be Aug 27, 1:30 pm at Miramar National Cemetery, San Diego.
