Lee Buechel Obituary

Buechel, Lee

Lee Buechel, age 46, of rural New Holstein, died Saturday afternoon, May 28, 2011, due to injuries received in a motorcycle - pickup truck accident in the town of New Holstein.

Lee was a New Holstein High School graduate, class of 1983, as was his wife Sherry (Suttner) Buechel.

They were married September 2, 1989 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and resided in rural New Holstein their entire married life.

They had 3 children, Derek Buechel of Los Angeles, CA, and two daughters, Tara and Brooke Buechel who still reside at home. All three children are also graduates of New Holstein High School.

Lee was employed at Volrath Company, Sheboygan, WI, for many years.

He was a devoted husband and father who labored extensively for his family to provide them with a top-notch home life. He was the best father to his children. He was known to most as "Mr. Mom" because of the countless number of things he did for his children. He braided the girls hair before sending them off to school, get them dressed for prom, paint their nails and take them with him where ever he went even if was just to go put gas in the car. Lee found much enjoyment spending time not only with his children, but all the friends who surrounded them as well. The special love shared between his family is unmatchable to most. He was also an accomplished hunter and did so with his wife Sherry. He spent most of his free time in the outdoors. Lee was continuously working on his yard which could be seen by the beauty he created with his hands. They both had nearly identical Harley-Davidson Sportsters and could often be seen riding together in the countryside they were friends, lovers and soul-mates.

Besides his wife Sherry and the three children, Lee is survived by his father Eldred Buechel of New Holstein and step-mother, Mary Ann, one brother Larry Buechel of Appleton, one sister Lori Buchanan of Indianola, Iowa and Grandma Lula Schoen of Stockbridge. He is further survived by father-in-law Harlee Suttner of rural New Holstein and mother-in-law Shirley Price of Amberg, WI, and her husband Melvin Price.

More survivors include brothers and sisters in-law, Jeffery (Therese) Suttner of New Holstein, Shelly (Leon) Nadler of Kiel, Brenda (Dennis) DeKuiper of Grawn, Michigan, Connie (Patrick) Hess of Morganton, North Carolina, John (Denny) Suttner of Oconomowoc, WI. Nieces and nephews,Ashley, Chelsea,Taylor, Leta, Brianna, Shane, Christopher, Ryan, Shanna, Cassidy, Samuel, Ashley, Nicholas, Amber, Myles, Chelsea, Skylar, Gavin, Jeffery and great-nephew Logan as well as many, many more friends and associates.

Viewing is scheduled for Thursday afternoon, June 2, at Sippel funeral home in New Holstein from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited for a memorial service at the Buechel home located on Charlesburg Road and Tecumseh Road in the township of New Holstein beginning at 2:00 p.m. Friday June 3.

The family wishes to thank the Calumet County Sheriff's Department, most notably Sheriff Mark Off, The New Holstein Police Department for their assistance as well as the New Holstein Fire Department, the New Holstein 1st Responders, Gold Cross Ambulance from Calumet Medical Center, Theda Star Helicopter Service and the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Calumet County Medical Representative, Mike Klaeser.
