I have just learned of Vangie's passing. I am so sorry to hear that she was not able to beat her illness. Vangie was a wonderful woman. I know my Mom enjoyed the many hours she spent working on family genealogy with her. Who will carry on that legacy? I always enjoyed seeing Vangie at the Wagner family reunions & will miss her great smile & conversation. My sympathies go to John Albert & family...Vangie left a great legacy & she will be missed by many. Donna Wagner Backus

My sympathies to the Wagner family. Vangie was my 4-H leader for 9 years. When you look back at youth and think about the people that made a difference in your life, Vangie was one of them. As our 4-H leader she encouraged us to try new things, (such as dancing with sticks!), develop our speaking skills and experiment with new projects. Her encouragement, time and dedication changed lives ... especially mine.

Vangie and the Wagner family have always been a good neighbor. Our children will always cherish the memories of past Christmases. While we as a family left home for a few hours each Christmas eve, John and Vangie would be our "phantom" Santa Claus. God Bless and thanks for the memories.

I knew Evangeline as only a kind, sweet face that I would frequently assist at Walmart where I worked for more than a decade. She was always cheerful and nice to visit with. I think she loved shopping! I will miss her.
