Margaret Lynn Obituary

Margaret Eugenia Johnson Lynn

Gilliam, LA - A memorial service for Margaret Eugenia Johnson Lynn, 88, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Belcher Presbyterian Church. James Van Hook will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.

Mrs. Lynn was born on May 16, 1926 in Shreveport, LA. She passed away October 3, 2014 following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Lynn grew up in Doyline, LA where she graduated from Doyline High School. She attended business school and then worked at the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant in Doyline during World War II; after that she worked at Continental Bank. There she met Bruce N. Lynn of Gilliam. They were married in 1949 and resided in Gilliam for sixty-one years. She was an active member of the Belcher Presbyterian Church and served as Treasurer for many years. Mrs. Lynn was a devoted wife and mother, loved her home, enjoyed her yard and growing and arranging flowers for special occasions.

Mrs. Lynn is preceded in death by her father, Herbert Holcomb Johnson, her mother, Eugenia Gatling Johnson, her brother William Johnson, sisters Jeanette Chumbley and Jettie Jane James, and her grandson Ross Alexander Lynn. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Newton Lynn, her son, Bruce Lynn Jr. of Gilliam, her daughter, Pamela Lynn Broesamle of Scotts Valley, CA, four grandchildren, five Great-grandchildren, her brother Herbert Johnson Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the Glen Village Health Care, St. Joseph's Hospice and those who were her care givers.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to The Ross Alexander Lynn Foundation (P.O. Box 905 Ruston, LA 71273) in memory of Margaret's grandson, supporting continued service and opportunities for the greater good or to the charity of donor's choice.
