Elizabeth Heaton Obituary
Shreveport, LA - Elizabeth Rene' Haynie Heaton passed away October 17, 2015 at her home following a long battle with cancer. A memorial service will begin at 2:30 pm on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, with Dr. Pat Day officiating.
Liza came into this world on January 7, 1989 and lived a full life in a short time. She graduated from Byrd High School in 2007 and Washington and Lee University in 2011. She worked in finance at Legg Mason in Baltimore, as well as consulting and finance in Atlanta. On December 13, 2014, Liza married her college sweetheart, Wyatt Heaton, on the banks of Cross Lake.
Quite the adventurer, Liza formed many strong and lasting friendships along the way. She had an infectiously happy attitude. Whether she had a good reason or not, she smiled every day.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, David Moore; and paternal grandmother, June Haynie. She is survived by her husband, Wyatt Heaton; her parents, Richard and Michelle Haynie; her brothers, Andrew and Thomas Haynie; her sister, Ann Marie Haynie; her grandmother, Carolyn Moore; her grandfather, William Haynie; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation for all the friends and family who have supported her, and to those who contributed to the Love for Liza fund to support synovial sarcoma research. I remember and recall this amazing story of unconditional love, support and happines despite the looming shadow of cancer. Truly her resilence and faith in God was the essence of her joy and strength. Be encouraged for you shall see her again when all God's children get together. I am deeply saddened by the news of Liza's passing. I count myself lucky and honored to have worked with her here in Kurt Salmon, Atlanta. Liza always looked for the humor first in any situation and I was amazed and awed by her resilience and power through her illness. We'll never forget her.
