Eula Pearl Shannon Gilcrease

Shreveport, LA - Eula Pearl Shannon Gilcrease, age 95, died Saturday, February 9, 2013. Mrs. Gilcrease was born on April 13, 1917, a native of El Dorado, Arkansas and lived in Shreveport since 1936. She married Duncan M. Gilcrease of El Dorado on October 19, 1935. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Shreveport since 1936.

Mrs. Gilcrease was preceded in death by her husband, Duncan M. Gilcrease; mother, Carrie Lee Olson Shannon; father, Henry Heywood Shannon, Sr., both of El Dorado, Arkansas; two sisters, Inez Cobb, of Refugio, Texas, and Louise Vaughn, of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and brothers, George W. Shannon, of Shreveport, Louisiana and Henry Heywood Shannon, Jr., of El Dorado, Arkansas.

Mrs. Gilcrease is survived by her daughters, Cherie Gilcrease, of Shreveport, Louisiana and Sylvia Richardson, of Homewood, Alabama; and her son, Duncan S. Gilcrease, of Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mrs. Gilcrease always loved animals and for that reason the family requests that memorials be made in her name to The Humane Society or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Services will be private. Interment will be at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue.
