Josephine Kennon Williams

MINDEN, LA - Funeral services will be held for Josephine (Jo) Kennon Williams of Minden, Louisiana on Thursday, November 12, 2009. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm at Gardens of Memory followed by a memorial service at St. John's Episcopal Church at 3:30 pm. The continuation of the celebration of her life will be held in the Parish Hall. Jo was born on January 10, 1925 and died November 10, 2009 in Shreveport.

She was married to the love of her life, Bert David Williams in 1943. Jo was the owner of Minden Antiques & Gifts for over 30 years. She was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents John T. and Josephine Kennon, son Bert David Williams, Jr., infant son, and brother John T. (Sonny) Kennon, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bert David Williams, daughter Barbara Jo and husband Judge Jimmy Wiley of Winnfield and son Thomas Williams and wife LaRue of Minden. Jo is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Judge Staci Wiley of Winnfield, Ainsley Williams of Austin, Texas, J.W. Wiley, Jr. of Baton Rouge, Kathryn Wiley Fowler and husband Robert of Washington, Pennsylvania, and David H. Williams of Minden. Her sisters Dorothy K. Williams and Barbara K. and husband Lloyd Braswell, also survive her. Her numerous nieces and nephews will cherish the warm memories with Aunt Jo. Her dear friends will fondly recall their stories about Josephine.

Pallbearers will be J.W. Wiley, Jr., Robert Fowler, Carleton Prothro, Dr. Richard Campbell, Dr. Eddie Moss, Rickie Williams, Scott Williams, Ken Braswell, and John Alan Braswell.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials shall be made to St. John's Episcopal Church in Minden, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of their choice. Rose-Neath Funeral Home
