Debra - Ray's Memorial Service was so fitting for Ray. I found myself smiling at some of the pictures you displayed. I feel like that is exactly what Ray would have wanted, for us to smile when we think of him.

As a reporter for The Times who often covered the State Fair Jr. Livestock Show and Sale, my path often crossed that of Ray. I will always remember his friendly smile and his helpful nature. He was truly a gentleman. May God bless his family.

Ray was the epitome of every good thing a COWBOY is supposed to be. I can't help but think that Lonesome came to take Ray home. He was a gentleman, a gentle man...and a GOOD friend. I enjoyed working with Ray at the Radio Ranch. I'll miss having Ray in the world.

Debra, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. This is so not the way or the age a fine man like Ray should have to leave us, but he fought a good fight and never lost his sense of humor through it all. His passing will without a doubt leave a huge void in the rodeo and horse show community and I am so thankful for the privilege of having known him. May God's peace and love surround you and your family today and in the days to come. Glenda Melton

For me, Ray epitomized the modern cowboy gentlemen. You could always count on the words coming out of his mouth to be true and exact. We shared many laughs in the mornings we worked together and I am glad to have called him a friend. Rest in Peace

To The Fourcier Family,
We will always remember his smile and willing to help all in the Agri. world. It did not matter if it was a Rodeo, Fair, Horse Show, Horse Sale or helping the Youth. He will truly be missed by our family we thought the world of him. Garnett Thomas

Debra,
Ray will always be remembered here at the State Fair of Louisiana. He contributed a great deal to the success of the State Fair Livestock Show and to the State Fair Rodeo over the years. Now he can enjoy comfort in the arms of God and see some of his old friends that have passed before him including my father, Sam. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

To Mrs. Forcier, Ray's mom.
I was so sorry to hear about Ray. He was one of my dearest friends at Airline Highschool and during college. He was always there for me. I jokingly called him Father Forcier as he counseled me on many of my dating challenges. He was my neighbor too and protector. I will never forget the night I got home from work from the telephone company and the door was unlocked. My family was gone on vacation. He grabbed a baseball bat and came over and sneaked through the house looking for intruders and thankfully never found one. We had a tacit agreement that if by the time we were 30 that we were not married we would marry. But of course that did not happen as life has a way of spinning off in many directions. My prayers are with you and Ray's family and friends. My mom sends her condolences also. Carol Calkins, Gun Barrel City, Texas

You have my sincere condolences on the loss of your husband, father, son, a special friend. I will remember you in my prayers. Ray and Barney are in the big ranch in the sky having a good ole time....
"God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best."

To the Forcier family,
Please accept my condolences in Ray's passing. I knew Ray through the rodeos & the livestock shows at the fairgrounds. He always had a warm smile & encouraging word. Ray will be greatly missed! He will be one of the guardian angels that many a cowboy & cowgirl can look up to know that he is watching over them. My prayers will be with yall.

To the Forcier family, please accept my deepest sympathies. I had the pleasure of working with Ray at KWKH, & enjoyed the stories he & Barney would share. Once, I drove a Dodge Dakota to work when my car was in the shop, & they said "We wondered who was driving that toy truck!" Always put a smile on my face. Blessings to you all.
