Carolyn Speer Obituary
Graveside services for Carolyn Joyce Speer will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, the 12th of December 2011 at Salem Cemetery in Athens, LA. with the Reverend Don Woodard officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday, the 12th of December 2011 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Carolyn Speer, 72 years of age, passed away Friday, the 9th of December 2011 at her home in Natchitoches, LA. Carolyn was born December 26, 1938 to the late Lester A. Patton and Mildred Huckaby Sinnett in Durham, NC. Carolyn met her husband, Byron, in 1953 and then they married in 1957. She loved her garden and working on art but she especially loved taking care of her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years Byron Speer of Natchitoches, LA.; her son, Byron B. "Brant" Speer, Jr. of Zachary, LA.; her daughter, Carol Julianne Maggio of Colorado; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Benjamin Speer, Rivers Murphy, A.G. Murphy, Sid Eubanks, George Grayson and Nolan Woods.
