Visitation will be November 8, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Chaplain Durell Tuberville and Frances Duron.

Karen was born July 15, 1962 in Shreveport, LA and moved to Heaven November 1, 2012. She attended Shreveport Community Church and Open Range Fellowship.

Honoring Karen, as pallbearers will be Jim Holtsclaw, Rusty Pipes, Mike Vollmer, Mark Faust, Wayne Ebarb, and Guy Smith.

Karen was adored and will be missed by her loving parents, Terry and Pam Pipes; children, Austin and wife, Traci Johnson, Ansley Johnson, and Aaron Pipes; grandchildren, Parker and twins, Cayden and Skylar; her sister, Kim and husband, Jim Holtsclaw; brother, Rusty and wife, Lee Pipes; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Grace Home, 1035 Margaret Place, Shreveport, LA 71101, where the staff so lovingly cared for Karen and her family. Kathryn Ball, you were our "earthly angel". Special appreciation to the wonderful staff of Southern Care Hospice.

Karen was known for her physical beauty, but for those who knew her well, her inward beauty shown even more radiantly.

She valued everyone and had devoted friends from all walks of life. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren, the joys of her life. Karen was divinely gifted in creative writing, interior and fashion design, painting and crafts, and culinary art. Karen's favorite song was "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me. It's so comforting to know that she now lives in the reality of her precious Savior, surrounded by the beauty she had only imagined.

Terry, Pam and Arron.
Words are hard to find that will give you comfort. In times like these all we have to turn to is Jesus , even with so many questions. Arron you are a very special young man, who is loved by so many. You make your Pop and Nana so proud. A song that gives us so much comfort " If we could see what I see, you wouldn't cry".

To the Pipes and Johnson Families:
I was so sorry to hear the news of Karen's passing (and of "Mom Pipes" too). I have some fond memories of Karen (and of Kim and the Pipes family) from when I was a little girl, living a few doors down on Justin St! Though I didn't know her as an adult, it's clear from what I read here that she was a lovely and talented person, and that she was loved by so very many, because she knew how to love others fully. That is a beautiful legacy that I hope brings comfort to you all in these difficult times, and that carries on in her family. It also sounds like she is heaven's joyous gain since she was so special! I can just picture God enjoying some of her unique writings, while He strokes her pretty hair (as she's already wanting to decorate her heavenly 'mansion' with some of her hand-made crafts and that designer's touch she had). I am praying for you all, and hope that you are warmed deeply by the cherished memories of Karen, and that you feel God's love embracing you always.

November 8, 2012

Terry and Pam, Please accept my sincere condolences. Your loss is so great. Mom Pipes loved her very much.
