Stephen Charles Bryant

Shreveport, LA - Steve was born at the NAS Corpus Christi, TX Naval Hospital, Jan. 16, 1955 and died tragically January 2, 2013. He has resided in Shreveport for the past 30 years. He attended Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Southwest Texas University and graduated from Centenary College with a degree in accounting. He was a state certified residential real estate appraiser and most recently was involved in the renovation of homes.

He had a deep and abiding love for antiques and travel, especially cruising with his family. Steve served honorably for six years in the US Naval Reserve as an electronic technician (crypto repair) from 1975 through 1981. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Craig C. Bryant. He is survived by his parents, C. Charles and Rosemary Bryant; his sister, Carla and husband, Lance Dreyer; and his special nephew, Patrick Barnes; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at 1:30 pm in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home with visitation from 12:30 to 1:30 pm prior to service. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Conrad P. Edwards.

The news of the loss of Steve pains me greatly. It's hard to imagine such tragedy could be brought upon such a beautiful man. Although, I only met Steve this year, I deeply valued our friendship and will always cherish the times we spent together and the conversations, that always held substance and meaning, and will miss moments of the sort with him. He was a very interesting and extremely bright man and I am ever so proud to have known him. I know, as painful as the loss of him is, to you, the family and loved ones, I feel Steve is in a happy place now that he can be with his son again. Often it's hard to find comfort in that, but in the end, that thought is what helps to get you through the pain and suffering. Cayden and I send our condolences out to all who is suffering and will always keep the memory of Steve close to our hearts.

Sincerely with love,
Kristen and Cayden

Dear Carla, Rosemary and Charles,

Susan and I are so very sorry for your loss. You have been and will remain in our daily thoughts and prayers.

I fondly remember Steve and enjoy recalling the many times I was with him, mostly in your gracious, happy home. He was fun to count as a friend and fellow Texas Aggie.

I realize there is little, if nothing, I can say that can alleviate even a modicum of your suffering and pain, but please know that we fervently pray God will provide you a special measure of His peace and understanding today and in the days to come.

Charles & Rosemary, want you all to know you are in our prayers during this difficult time. Steve was an excellent appraiser. He was also the most knowledgeable antique person I have ever met. Everytime he did an appraisal for me in the 1990s, he would educate me about antiques and what to look for at estate sales. Rich & Karen

It is times like this that being together makes those remaining stronger & able to help each other get through crisis.
Steve was a giving, bright & kind man.
His life prematurely shortened, not by his choice, his suffering finished, our memories will always live in our minds, in our hearts & soul.
Good bye my Friend. Be at Peace.
