Gloria Nell Brantley Garvin

Shreveport, LA - Mrs. Gloria B. Garvin, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at home after a brief illness. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22, at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in the Chapel of Osborn. Officiating will be Conrad Edwards of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave.

Gloria was born in Homer, attended LA Tech and was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She was a resident of Shreveport for the past 27 years and was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed reading, going to the symphony and theater and spending time with her friends and family. Gloria was an active volunteer at Good Will for 13 years.

Mrs. Garvin was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Garvin; and her son, Greg Garvin, of Dallas, TX. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Catherine Jones, of Dunwoody, GA; son, David Keith Garvin, of Shreveport, LA; sister, Jesse McFaye MucKelrath, of Marshall, TX; and brother, Jackie Leon Brantley, of West Monroe, LA.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Castleberry, Lewis Harris, Neil Matthews, Jeffery Brantley, James Brantley and Robert Saucier.
