She was a certified instructor of ceramics, made porcelain dolls and an avid quilter. She was affectionately called "Granny Grunt" by her grandchildren, whom she adored.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, John and Viola Walters, brothers, Almon, Johnnie, Willie, Luther, Leo, and Murphy Walters, and sister, Bertie Tingle, and one infant son, John Thomas Self, Jr. She is survived by her children, Sharon Glasner and husband, Del, Sandra Harris and husband, Kenneth, Norman and wife, Ramona, Holly and husband, Jim, and Ricky and wife, Jerri. I loved caring for Ms Wyatt at her assisted living apartment. She keep me tickled with some of the phrases she used. She was a sweet lady. She was so proud of her kids. She told me so many times. She is missed by all of the staff that cared for her and even my Mom, LaRue, who had the chance to meet her once day while i was working.

Bertha was always a dear friend to our family. I appreciated and enjoyed being an honorary member of the Self family. We had fun over the years. Bertha was always full of fun and loved the Lord so much. You will be missed Bertha but I know you will be waiting for all of us in Heaven!
