Manny was a Boy Scout with my brother, Jim. He was a wonderful person and always kind. I will miss him. He always thought of others

I was a long-time friend to Manny. He was so tenacious when it came to the Teamsters negotiating. It was a shock to find out that he had passed from leukemia. He had always seemed so robust on all matters, especially the Teamsters. I tried to keep in touch with him on occasion, mostly to consult with him on the legal matters vis-a-vis our law firm whom Manny had represented.
But most of all, Manny was so proud of his family and their successes. He once told me on how he would have discussions about current events while his family was young and growing up, and how he had hoped it would give his children a larger world view. Judging from from the outcome, I believe he succeeded.
Though it was a bit of a burn that Manny was retired from Teamsters during an unusual upheaval, his heart was always with the people, even to the end of Price-Pfister.
I will always appreciate Mannys gracious help during and after the Teamster negotiations that occurred in our union after we had voted to bring in the Teamsters.

Coach Barbosa,
I remember you as my SCVAA football coach. You and my dad coached together for many years.
I still remember that one road trip SCVAA football game where we held our opponent to a 4th and 44 on our 45 yard line. You were walking along the sidelines gathering up the offense and getting ready to take over the ball on the next play when suddenly you heard the cheers of the opposing team's fans. Confused, you turned back towards the field and saw our defense chasing the ball carrier down the sidelines 45 yards for a TD. Their offense ran the ball up the middle untouched 45 yards for a TD. That one play summed up how our season went. We didn't win very many games that year but we had a lot of fun. 30+ years later I still look back with fond memories from those days.
You were a great coach. If I recall, Sharon was the team mom that year too.
Rest in peace Coach Barbosa.

Estimada familia Barbosa:
Es de mucho consuelo conocer las palabras registradas en Isaías 25:8 donde dice que Dios se tragará la muerte para siempre. Que Dios les de consuelo en esas palabras y fortaleza.
