I was a long-time friend to Manny. He was so tenacious when it came to the Teamsters negotiating. It was a shock to find out that he had passed from leukemia. He had always seemed so robust on all matters, especially the Teamsters. I tried to keep in touch with him on occasion, mostly to consult with him on the legal matters vis-a-vis our law firm whom Manny had represented.

I remember you as my SCVAA football coach. You and my dad coached together for many years.

I still remember that one road trip SCVAA football game where we held our opponent to a 4th and 44 on our 45 yard line. You were walking along the sidelines gathering up the offense and getting ready to take over the ball on the next play when suddenly you heard the cheers of the opposing team's fans.
