With sadness, I discovered the obituary today of Dr. Alex Srbich, my thesis advisor in 1967. I remember his classes very well and his emphasis on basic but important principles of industrial engineering. His care and sponsorship helped me immensely throughout my own academic and industrial experiences. My best wishes always to out to his wife Jeanette, forever the supportive host of many student visits to his home to share enjoyable times together.

Dear Daddy, As we prepare to start a new year, I want to tell you again how much we love you and miss you. Mother is doing well and comforted in that you did not have to suffer in the end. God is gracious. Love always, Victor

Alex was my graduate studies faculty advisor at SDSU in the early 70's. He taught production and operations management at the leading edge of the discipline, challenging and encouraging his students to know the theory and the practice. I was privileged to be a reader for several courses, and value the experience in my second career as a teacher. What made Dr. Srbich most memorable were the graduate student "parties" hosted by him and his gracious wife. Every attendee was expected to entertain, with music or a poem, or even a joke. He made the students feel like we were special. My condolences to his family and colleagues.
