LINK, KURT HELMUT March 24, 1928 to November 27, 2010 Kurt Helmut Link was born to Lorenz and Emma Link in Wissmar, Germany on March 24, 1928. He was the oldest of six children. On December 1, 1951, he married his beloved wife Rita Herta Arzig. He brought his young family of four girls to the U.S. by ship in June of 1957. With the addition of two more girls and a son, the family relocated in November 1967 to California where they settled in Chula Vista. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On November 27, 2010 while asleep, he left us to join the Lord. Viewing will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, on Monday, December 6, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service starting at 4:00 p.m.

Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer.
Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.

Angie I am so sorry for your loss. I have lost both parents and I can tell you, you will never stop missing him. As time goes by it just gets easier to deal with. I never had the priveledge to meet your father but from what I saw in the photos he must have been a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. I will be thinking of you and your family during your time of sadness. Sue Lee and family.

My sincere sympathy to you Angela and your family. Your father lived a long and full life, and it is evident that he loved you greatly and was greatly loved. What better legacy is there?
Your friend,

I've been a part of this family since I was 16. Opa, despite all my crazy choices, always made me welcome. Many years ago, Opa brought his little family here from Germany. His love and guidance helped this family to grow into 7 kids, 16 grandkids, and 12 great grandkids. Add all the significant others and step-kids and it makes for a big family...a life to be proud of... I love this family very much and I have Opa to thank for it. Opa will always be a part of us. I'll never forget him tickling Zachary or sharing a can of whip cream with Autumn. I'm glad we have so many memories to hold in our hearts.
Love,
Suzie
(his grandson's wife)

Kurt was a fine man and a great father. He knew what was important and tried to pass it on to the next generation. He has left the best part of himself on earth in his kids and others he has touched. I respected him and admired him. My condolences to all the family.

Daddy I love you so much! I miss all the little stories you always told us. Your strength when I needed it and your great big bear hugs! I know you are now safe from all harm. May you walk and dance to your hearts content! I miss the songs you sang. You put a lot of meaning in my life. I remember all the tears I shed and the crying on your shoulders...but mostly all the laughter we all shared. Miss you so much even though you always called me "Dicke-sha". Till we meet again, your loving daughter, Ursula

Opa, I will always hold a special place in my heart of memories of you. I will remember all the times that I went over to your house and you would sing me "Erika" the marching song. When I listened to the song last night, memories flooded my mind. I love you so much! You will be missed by many.

Love, Erika

Ohhh My Opa...how I will miss you and your stories. You always had something to say. I was honored to be your princess and your first grandchild. I have so many memories of you and your love for your family and life itself. I know you will be watching over each and everyone of us and keeping us on the straight path as you did when you were here.

May your walk through the flowers and run in the rain, pain free and care free. Your great grandson told me that you would soon be running 20mph and playing sports again.

You will always be cherished by many, always in our hearts and never forgotten!

I won't need an angel on my Christmas Tree, I already have you looking down on me...I LOVE YOU!
Your granddaughter,
April
