ALEXANDER MONTIEL Obituary

MONTIEL, ALEXANDER GARY Longtime San Diego resident Alexander Montiel passed away June 8, 2011, at his condo, which he rented. He was 56 years old. He was born on the island of Crete, Greece. He grew up in La Jolla with parents, preceded in death, Ernest and Dixie Montiel. A 1973 graduate of La Jolla High School and attended college at the University of Arizona. He served 18 proud years in the U.S. military including the US Navy, US Marine Corps, and U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of American Legion post 303 and Disabled American Veterans post two. He lived in Spring Valley and El Cajon, California. He was over all the most loving, devoted, committed, giving, loyal, thoughtful, caring (there wasn't anything he wouldn't of done for his family especially his kids) father, husband, brother, and friend. Even if he only had $1 or $.50 to his name, he would have give it to his family. He is survived by his children Kathleen, Alex Jr., and Shawn, his ex-wife and best friend Pearly, sister Eleni, brothers Tony and Ernie, wife Edna, and other loving family. We couldn't of asked for a better father because a father and friend like him is like a needle in a haysack. We love you dad. They ain't got nothing on you pops! A viewing will be held at the El Cajon Mortuary on Thursday, June 16th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and funeral Friday, June 17th, at 10:00 a.m. (church service), also at El Cajon Mortuary. Interment will be at the Miramar National Cemetery, Friday, June 17th, at 12:00 p.m.
