Although I spent only a few hours with Berneice, it was enough for me to see that she was quite a lady and quite a woman. She was every bit as interesting as Barbara and Michael made her sound when they talked about her.
I could see that Berneice had a deep and fierce love of her family and her church; that she had strong and clear political views.
Berneice had the courage of her convictions. Whatever the subject, she said what she thought with clarity and often with an astringently dry sense of humor.
It was easy to picture her flying an airplane for her country. That's an amazing thing to say, isn't it? But then she was an amazing woman.
With sympathy to her daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren,
Jean

To Toot's family,
I was also born and raised in Foxholm. Your dad's brother Leonard was my brother-law and my brother Ralph was a good friend of your dad's. I called your mother when I was writing my book about Foxholm and we had such a nice visit. It will be a lasting memory of a lovely lady. You have my sincere sympathy.

Paula, Barbara and Pam, I am so sorry for your loss... Your mom was like a second mom to me (and my sisters) growing up. I can only imagine how hard this is. I truly believe your mom is at peace and is reunited with your dad and Pat up in Heaven. Celebrate the wonderful life of your mom and treasure your memories...love, Karen
