JAMES LOVELL Obituary

LOVELL, JAMES HAROLD 1941 to 2010 James Lovell was born in Plainsboro, New Jersey to Harold and Ruth Lovell. His father was a successful dairy farmer, and Jim learned early to work with cows. However his interests were in a wider world, and after high school he went to San Diego where he pursued a number of ventures for 25 years in sales and restaurants. He also served in the Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Reserve. He married Betty Jennings; they divorced in 1980, but remained good friends to the end. Captivated by the opportunities in the beautiful Idaho mountains, he moved to the Sun Valley area, where he was in the food business, and later in electrical contracting, and had a chinking business. He enjoyed the beauty of the area and the companionship of a multitude of friends. . In later years he was limited by poor health. After open heart surgery in September, he fought valiantly to recover for a few more trips around the sun, but finally succumbed on November 8, 2010. He was known and appreciated by his friends as a happy and outgoing person, entering fully into all he did, generous to a fault with everyone. He enjoyed life, from running 10k races in San Diego to smoking a cigar while walking along the Big Wood River in Ketchum. Especially in his younger years he partied a lot,- maybe too much, but moderation never seemed to him to be a virtue. For he also loved unconditionally, and gave freely of himself and all he had. He is survived by his sister, Ann Lovell Rowe, his brother-in-law Richard Rowe, and three nephews, Peter, Andrew, and Christopher Rowe.

How very sad; and yet what fond memories growing up together right from Prospect Ave on up through high school! Anna Mae I pray our beloved Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, has welcomed Jimmy and that you and your family are rejoicing in the promises our Father has given to us even as we walk through the shadows here in this life. To Him be thanksgiving and glory forever! Donna Pendyke Prickett
still in Plainsboro!
