I knew Jane when I worked in Bank Services at Union Bank. She was a very king woman and could always put a smile on my face. She was the entertainment in the lunchroom, as she would keep the conversations going with her questions and comments. She brought in cages to the office to catch a wild cat and her newborn kittens to take home and set free on her ranch; she was so very caring of both animals and people. When a vendor would come to the office for a meeting with her I would call her to let her know and she would say, “give me a minute to put on my lips and I will be right there” with a laugh to follow. She would come sailing through the door always with a big smile on her face and her hand outreached for a warm handshake. She will be missed. Thank you for the good times at work Jane.

Jane was also my first boss. I started with the bank January, 1979. I learned so much from her. We worked hard but had a lot of fun. She taught me so much about work and life. We loved hearing her stories about past Print Shop employees especially at Christmas when we put the ornaments on the tree. She made everyone bring in an ornament with their name and year they started. Every Christmas we had a party and past employees and many, many friends came together. That is what Jane did, bring people together. She was a wonderful person. I will miss her!

Jane and her husband, Guy, were neighbors of ours for over 25 years. So many wonderful memories are etched in our hearts forever, as we raised our family right next door to these two wonderful individuals. Jane loved all the animals they cared for and we loved sharing in these experiences right along with them. Being supplied with fresh eggs weekly was a treat....whether they were chicken, goose, or peacock eggs. you could be sure they were FRESH! Garrett was born on Jane's birthday, June l5! What a birthday surprise that was for Jane. All of the holiday and special occasions we shared were the best...great company, great food, and great memories. Love, hugs, and kisses to Guy, Jane, and their family. We will miss you, Jane!

Jane was my first boss, when I went to work in 1966. I was 19, with an 18 month old baby. Jane took me under her wing, taught me so much, and was so wonderful to work with. She had a strong work ethic and we always got the job done, but always it was with fun and hi-jinx. We became close friends, and all these years later, I can still hear her laughter. She was an amazing person - opening her home to all of us to visit with her menagerie - trips to Las Vegas and San Fran - Bless you Jane. I will always miss you and remember such dear memories. I am happy you are home again, with Guy and so many dear friends who all loved you. Rest in peace, my friend.

Jane was a wonderfully fun gal. My mother, Janey (Hughes) Willis, once worked for her and they remained friends for decades after. I remember tagging along to brunches with "The Biddies". There was always lots of laughter! Bless you, Jane. I hope you are blissfully happy again with Guy. :)

Jane Ryan was my first boss when I began my career in 1963. She was such a wonderful person, with great work ethic, so witty, and made work so much fun. She was one-of-a-kind and a long-time dear friend. Everyone loved Jane.
Most sincerely, Mary Haas.

I was so sorry to learn of Jane's passing away, as she was such a dear friend of mine and we shared a lot of good memories. She will always be remembered and never forgotten in my heart. At least, she is not suffering anymore.

All my love,

My dad, John F. Hollowell, who passed away Dec. 21, 2008, (miss you so much, dad), worked for Union Bank and ALWAYS spoke so highly of Jane Ryan.He would tell me of the animals she had, which made me like her all the more, being an animal lover. My mom, Barbara Hollowell, said that Jane was a very nice person and was sad to see her passing. Union Bank folks are like family and I am so grateful that my dad worked for the bank and made such dear friends as Jane Ryan. Thank you, Lydia Hollowell
