We moved to Point Loma in 1952. The first people we met in the new neighborhood were the Scales. Kay was so warmly friendly to my mother (I was only 10; she was lovely to me, too) and it meant a lot to us all. Of course Mr. Scales was nice, too, and I liked young Leon and Ann very much. It was a happy place to grow up and I have lovely memories of you all. May the Lord comfort you and all your family at this time of loss. I've no doubt Kay has been welcomed warmly in heaven.

Kay was a wonderfully vibrant woman; enjoyed visiting with her this past December - still sharp as always. Kay loved to learn - we went on several SD Natural History Museum trips. It was a pleasure to converse with Kay, who often was accompanied by her good friend, Ruth Whitney Robinson, on these adventures. My sincere condolences to Kay's family.
