LEWIS RISHEL Obituary

RISHEL, LEWIS EDWARD March 27, 1928 to October 28, 2010 Lew was born in Norfolk, Virginia. He joined the Navy in 1946, then met Ruth Crowson in Florida where they were married in 1952. Over the next twenty years he was stationed at several ports and air bases, and returned to San Diego after he retired. Lew was good with cars and engines and worked on them until the end. He was a Toastmaster and a founding member of the San Diego Corvair club. His many friends in the classic car community will miss his warmth and knowledge. Lew is survived by Ruth, his wife of 58 years, children Luther, Paul, Naomi, and May; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Lew's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Veterans Administration hospital for their care and friendship.

Western Fastener

November 9, 2010

Lew used to come in, where I work, to Western Fastener, looking for some nut, bolt or screw to fix something, generally a car part. It was always a pleasure to talk with him. I'm sorry he is gone, but glad he is peacefully at rest. Ted at Western Fastener
